Discover rare natural treasures of the rainforest around Newquay Zoo and daily animal encounters in the steamy warmth of our Tropical House.
Standing Day Gecko
'Bob' the Bali Starling at Newquay Zoo
In the nice warm Tropical House, you can experience daily animal encounters at 1.45 where we will introduce animals from our selection of Tropical minibeasts (land snails, millipedes, cockroaches, Royal Pythons, Skinks etc) without the hysterical or edible "I'm a Celebrity get me out of here" Jungle treatment.
We will also introduce the rare Bali Starling, Rainbow Lorikeet, Roul-roul, Pygmy Marmosets, Tree Shrews as well as Sloths, Mouse Deer, Burmese Python and a few of the Tropical House plants.
There is s free trail sheet which you can pick up as you enter and each trailboard will mention a natural jungle treasure or product commonly found in the home, as well as a few jungle explorers including a famous lost explorer who never returned from the South American rainforest! You can post you trail sheet in at the gift shop for a chance to win a prize which will be drawn at the end of the month.
