White Gold Project is a partnership project between the Police, Youth Offending Team and Community Safety working with prolific, vulnerable or at risk young offenders aged 10 to 19 years in Cornwall. Active offenders are identified through intelligence from the Police, information from the community and the sharing of quality information with other partner agencies.
The White Gold Project is involved in numerous community projects with local partners including education, youth service, cymaz, fire service, social care and the army. The aim is to focus on activities that require commitment, enthusiasm, motivation, confidence and the neccessary skills to work with others. This helps young people to develop a sense of success and achievement and the opportunity to make a positive contribution to the community.
To raise the profile of Crimestoppers in our community WGP were involved with the Youth Service, the Police and the local Community Safety Partnership in generating interest and publicity for Crimestoppers in Newquay. People in our communities frequently have vital information that can help to reduce or prevent crime, but often do not report the information for fear of reprisals or being involved with a criminal investigation. You can call Crimestoppers anonymously and for free on 0800 555 111.
